The Importance of nursing research is to develop and promote knowledge about health care of patients and persons with disabilities. Hence research project modules is now emended nursing and medical courses in general.

It’s a requirement for all nursing degrees (undergraduate & Masters) students undertake a learning projects before graduation. These projects allow students to showcase their understanding to the topic, research insight and organizational skills. Although these projects may be termed as dissertations in common language. This is a common misunderstanding.

It should be clear that undergraduate projects are research proposal, while master’s projects are dissertations. Master’s dissertations are more difficult, voluminous and involve more research.

Students should display their capability to focus on a topic and systematically scrutinize it in detail and pick out relevant theories. While showcasing an orderly presentation of the work, academic form and clear knowledge of their topic.

Although the supervision and support of the tutor or professor is might be awarded, these projects pose the biggest challenge. As a lot rides on the students’ capabilities to determine the focus and flow of their work which is subjected to individual basis.

Dissertations are also challenging due to the typical and substantial component of the research requiring collection and analysis of primary, secondary and existing data. However a multitude of students struggle to start their research because they don’t know the topic of their project.
